Description

c/n 1170 Built 1972 Written off on 15th February 1997 during a night landing accident in Bavaria. The pilot later died from injuries sustained in the accident, all other crew and passengers survived. Sold as scrap in 2003, the remains were brought to the museum in October 2019 to act as a spares source for XW208, the museums own Puma. Once this is completed the hulk of XW225 will return to military use as a training aid. A memorial to the pilot of XW225 will be placed in the cabin of XW208.
