Description |
English: Wharf and rock face on northern side of North Bentinck Arm, at Bella Coola, B.C. from bend in wharf near its base, Bella Coola, B.c. from about east. Its is more expensive to build a road on the rock than to build this wharf nearly a mile long, which has to be pieced out a little about every year, as the delta builds out. The outer end of the wharf is so near the mountain that it is fastened to it with a log spiked to each. The snow had pretty well gone for the year, but fresh snow fell on the mountain on August 26th when it rained in the valley. The bottomland of Bella Coola Valley shows. The Necleetsconnay enters from beyond the first ridge at the left, the Bella Coola from beyond second ridge. Both with Pashla Creek enter here in this view; the Necleetsconnay, on the north or left under the wharf in the middle; and the Bella Coola on the south or right. |
