Summary

edit
Description Malted grains, having been mashed and sparged, rest in an oatmeal-like sludge at the bottom of the mash tun. They've served their purpose, and although the husks are now simply remnants, it's their initial contents - starches converted to sugars during the steeping process - that represent the foundation of the beer. We thank them, and in a few weeks, will honor their memory.
