English: What the heck - Papplewick Pumping Station Although I could taunt you all with these mysterious objects - I'm sure some of you know they are colliery winder brake or reverse engines, steam powered and hydraulic (water) damped. The brake and reverse engines were identical so these could be either or both. The valve blocks and control rods are missing. I don't know their provenance but there were several possible donor sites within 15 miles. |
