English: What would happen if....? It is an interesting thought experiment in ecology. If we as a species disappeared from an area completely - what would happen? How long before our traces are softened and eroded away.
Well this is not quite an accurate test, but Winston Barracks, closed finally about 20 years ago gives an impression of what a housing estate would look like if abandoned. The buildings are decaying, but recognisable as a typical suburban scene. A great film set. Anyone remember Survivors, from the 1970s? |
