English: Liverpool - Plymouth express ascending Whiteball Bank. View NE, towards Wellington, Taunton and Bristol/London: ex-GWR West Country main line; see ST1220 : Manchester - Penzance express between Wellington and Whiteball Tunnel and other scenes. The 09.15 from Liverpool Lime Street was due at Penzance at 22.55 - a hell of a journey, via Crewe, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Severn Tunnel, Bristol and Exeter. The locomotive is the first production series Collett 'Hall' 4-6-0, No. 4901 Adderley Hall' (built 12/28, withdrawn 9/60). |
