I visited Auburn Botanical gardens last weekend and was nearly mugged by a black swan. The story goes like this. I was walking through a section that has australian native plants and a small pond with a low wooden bridge that crosses it. I spotted two black swans so decided to grab some shots of them. I knelt down and got some really close shots of this swan. I was so engrossed with what I was doing that I didnt really pay attention to what the other swan was doing. Little did I know that they had seen my camera bag and thought that there must be a lot of food in it ( What else would you carry in a bag?) They had decided that one of them would distract me while the other one snuck up the bank near the bridge and tried to snaffle my camera bag. Fortunately, I spotted him out of the corner of my eye and grabbed the bag and moved away before any damage could be done, much to the disgust of the swans.
