The advertisement, which consists of an illustration, states that the film stars Mary Johnson and Nina Vanna. The only film listed that these two actresses where in is the German film Was die Kinder ihren Eltern verschweigen (1927) (English: What the Children Conceal from their Parents), which the IMDb states was banned in Europe but released in the United States. It is possible that the Road Show Pictures version had added footage, the illustration suggests the possibility of a scene with partial nudity.
In the book by Ken Wlaschin, The Silent Cinema in Song, 1896-1929, McFarland 2006, it states that Why Girls Go Wrong was the German film Männer vor der Ehe (1927) (English: Men Before Marriage), but the IMDb cast only lists Vanna for that film and not Johnson. The book states that the U.S. version of the film included the song "That’s Why Girls Go Wrong" by Irving Bibo and Charles Weinberg, where the sheet music included a photo of Vanna and the image of a topless woman with long hair, which may be the image from this advertisement.
