Deutsch: WIELAND, C.[hristoph] M.[artin]: Geschichte der Abderiten. 2 Theile [= Bde.]. Mit zwei gestochenen Titelvignetten. Wien: Doll (Drechsler) 1818. Kl.-8°. 340 [8], 281 [5] Ss. Neue Pergamentbände, mit Rückengoldtitel auf montierten Lederrückenschildchen einer älteren Bindung und Goldschnitt. Schmucker Satz dieser zweibändigen Ausgabe dieser erstmals zwischen 1774 und 1780 im "Teutschen Merkur" erschienenen Romansatire über Schildbürgerei. Die vom Wiener Kupferstecher Johann Blaschke auf Basis von Zeichnungen von Gottfried Locher klar und kräftig gestochenen Titelvignetten zeigen Szenen mit jenem Esel, dessen Schatten in der Überlieferung zum Streitobjekt eines absurden Gerichtsprozesses wird. – Sehr sauberer Satz im repräsentativen, sammelwürdigen Einband
