Deutsch: Der Meridiankreis der Kuffner Sternwarte wurde 1884 bis 1886 von Repsold & Söhne (Hamburg) gebaut, die Optik stammt von Steinheil & Söhne (München). Er war der größte in der Habsburgermonarchie und zählt heute zu den größten Europas. Verwendung fand er u.a. 1890-1904 im Rahmen des Zonenprogramms der Astronomischen Gesellschaft.[1] English: The Meridian circle of the Kuffner Observatory in Vienna was built 1884-1886 by Repsold & Söhne (Hamburg), optics by Steinheil & Söhne (Munich). It was the biggest Meridian circle in the Habsburg Monarchy, and so it is one of the largest in Europe. Using this Median circle was mainly 1890-1904 as part of the Zone program of Astronomische Gesellschaft. |
