Wilhelm Kümpel.
Geb. 5. September 1822 in Altona. Von 1843-1846 Schüler der Düsseldorfer Akademie. Geriet während oder nach dem deutsch-dänischen Krieg von 1848 in politische Gefangenschaft und ging anschließend ins Exil nach London, hier gehörte er zu den Mitbegründern eines "Deutschen Vereins für Kunst und Wissenschaft", auch "Deutsches Athenäum" [German Athenæum] genannt. Deutsch: Brustbild eines Mannes mit halblangem rötlichen Haar und Spitzbart. Oberkörper im Profil, der Kopf nach rechts dem Beschauer zugewandt. Rock und Halsbinde sind schwarz, vom Hemd ist nur ein schmaler Streifen sichtbar.
