Description
English: William Blenkinsopp-Coulson Drinking Fountain, Horatio Street.
  • Inscription commemorates W.L. Blenkinsopp-Coulson and his efforts to help the weak and defenceless 'among mankind and in the animal world'. He was a leading figure in the NSPCC and RSPCA, and founded the local Dog and Cat Shelter in Spital Tongues.[1]
  • The view is down to the River Tyne, just west of the mouth of the Ouseburn, close to the former exit of the Victoria Tunnel underground wagon-way.
