Description
English: Built in 1888, this Queen Anne-style mansion was designed by H. H. Little for William W. Sloan, vice president of the Buffalo General Electric Company, and owner of a malt house. The house features a red brick first and second floor, with a rusticated stone base, stucco-clad attic with half-timbering, complex mansard and gabled roof, replacement windows, rusticated stone trim and belt coursing, a two-story bay window on the south facade, a wrap-around porch with unique clustered orthogonal ionic columns, an open pier base, a low-slope hipped roof, and a cornice with modillions, first floor leaded glass casement windows, an enclosed side gazebo porch, bracketed eaves, shingle cladding at the base of the roof, decorative bargeboard, gabled dormers, and a rear carriage house with a hipped roof, wall dormers, red brick exterior, tall rooftop cupola, and arched entry door. The building presently houses office space on the first floor with seven apartments on the upper floors.
