Description
English: Williams Copse in winter, Pondhead Inclosure, New Forest. The plaque on the post says all you need to know: "Nine hundred sessile oak were planted here in 1979 to commemorate the creation of the New Forest by William I in 1079. May it contribute to the sylvan pleasures of our successors." That's presumably one for every year of the New Forest on its 900th anniversary.
