Description Est Series XIII 4-8-2 No.241.001 (SNCF 241A.1), built by the Est at their Epernay works (Works No.904) in 1925, the prototype of 41 engines in this series. The first "Mountain" 4-8-2 in Europe. A de Glehn-du Bousquet type compound. Rebuilt by Chapelon in 1933. 49 identical engines were also built for the Etat in 1931-33. 03/09. Pic of Hugh llewelyn modifed.
