Het windpark Egmond aan Zee is het eerste grote windpark dat in de Noordzee voor de Nederlandse kust is gebouwd. Het is in 2006 in gebruik genomen. Het park bestaat uit 36 windmolens met ieder een vermogen van 3 MW. Samen leveren zij duurzame elektriciteit voor meer dan 100.000 huishoudens. De plek van het park ligt 10 tot 18 kilometer uit de kust bij Egmond aan Zee. Het totale gebied van het park beslaat zo’n 27 km2 . Bij helder weer is het park zichtbaar vanaf het strand.

The wind farm Egmond aan Zee is the first major wind farm in the North Sea off the Dutch coast. It is operational since 2006. The park consists of 36 turbines each with a capacity of 3 MW. Together they deliver renewable electricity to more than 100.000 households. The site of the park is 10 to 18 kilometers off the coast of Egmond aan Zee. The total area of the park covers some 27 km2. On a clear day, the park will be visible from the beach.
