Summary
editDescriptionWineglass model for IMRaD structure..png |
English: Wineglass model for IMRaD structure. It schematically shows how to line up the information in IMRaD writing. The flow of the story and logical development of research article or thesis having IMRaD structure are schematically explained by wineglass model.
Shape of the wineglass model is as abovementioned diagram, is characterized by "vertically symmetrical" and "narrows toward from top to center and widens after it". The vertically symmetrical shape represents the symmetry of the flow of the story, topics mentioned in the Introduction part are again picked up in the Discussion/Conclusion in reverse order. The width of the diagram which narrows toward from top to center and widens after it represents the focusing of the story. The change of the width of above diagram represents the change of generality. The story start out from the "Introduction part " by being fairly general and the focus of the story gradually narrowed, whereas the opposite is true in the Discussion/Conclusion. Here, IMRaD is an acronym for introduction, methods, results, and discussion. For more information, please refer to [1]. |

This diagram image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “Wineglass model for IMRaD structure..svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
