Item caption/descriptive text, back: 3. Der zweite Schneidersbub war Müller geworden. Er hatte zum Abschied einen Esel erhalten. Wenn man zu diesem sagte: Bricklebrit, so spie das Tier Goldstücke. Der junge Müllerknecht freute sich darüber. Auch er machte Halt in Herberge, wo der Bruder so betrogen war. Als ihm das Geld ausging, eilte er zu seinem Esel und sprach: "Bricklebrit." Nun hatte er Gold genug. Der Wirt aber hatte an der Türe der Sache zugesehen. Nachts stellte er einen andern Esel in den Stall. Erst zu Hause bemerkte der Müller den Betrug. = The tailor's second son became a miller. He was given a donkey from his master as a parting gift. If one said to it: Bricklebrit, the animal spouted pieces of gold. The young miller's boy was overjoyed about this. He also stopped at the inn where his brother had been so deceived. When he ran out of money, he rushed to his donkey and said, "Bricklebrit." Now he had plenty of money. But the innkeeper had watched the matter from the door.
