English: Demonstration at the county court in Wiener Neustadt (Austria) opposing the trial against 13 animal rights activists accused of being members of an international criminal organisation committing damage to property factory farms and stores selling animal products. Many critics of the trial argue, that sect. 278a of the Austrian criminal code is being misused in this case in a undemocratic, totalitarian way to repress critics of the civil society. They demand an ammendment to saveguard aginst furthe misuse of this law.
Deutsch: Demonstration beim Landesgericht Wiener Neustadt (Österreich) wegen einem Prozess gegen 13 Tierrechtsaktivisten, die beschuldigt werden Mitglieder einer internationalen kriminellen Organisation zu sein, die Sachbeschädigungen gegen Tierfabriken und Geschäfte mit Tierprodukten durchgeführt hat. Viele Kritiker des Verfahrens argumentieren, dass der Paragraph 278a des StGB in diesem Fall in einer undemokratisch totalitären Weise missbraucht wird um zivilgesellschaftliche Kritik zu unterbinden. Sie kämpfen für eine Änderung der Gesetzgebung um einen weiteren Missbrauch zu verhindern. |
