Description
English: Precise data on a 'wobbling' star in data from ESA's Gaia mission has allowed astronomers to identify a gigantic exoplanet and take a direct image.
This exoplanetary system may resemble the outer regions of our own Solar System. The exoplanet is just over three times further away from its host star than Jupiter is from the Sun, but it receives a similar amount of light because the star is much more luminous. The system also contains a dusty disk that receives a similar amount of light to the Solar System's Kuiper Belt.
