Description

Many of these services were operated by steam engines as part of the Wolsztyn museum operation.The Nowa Sol service was abandoned a few years later. Zagan was another later stronghold of steam in Poland, close to the East German border, certainly in late 1989. Today, the steam operation is mainly to Poznan or Wroclaw. Opalenica, which received one extended train daily was the centre of a once extensive narrow gauge 750mm system which only closed in 1995. Nowe Miasteczko -German: Neustädtel - is situated south of Nowa sol and seems to have rather a feeble link with Wolsztyn - only one departure daily, with no return working.
