English: Worcester Bar, Gas Street Basin Originally there was no direct connection between the Birmingham Canal and the Birmingham & Worcester Canal and goods had to be transshipped across the bar. After an Act of Parliament and financial compensation to the Birmingham Canal Company a stop lock was constructed in 1815. |
