Description
English: Worcester Black Pear tree, Hartlebury Castle In the garden picnic area near to the museum shop.

The Worcester Black Pear appears on the Worcestershire coat of arms. It is said that Queen Elizabeth I presented a tree to the city of Worcester when she visited. The pear is very hard and needs to be cooked slowly.

If stored carefully the fruit keeps well - right into the following spring.
