Description
English: These picture represents women all around the world.

Women who battle day-by-day, unemployment and inequality of gender exists everywhere, it doesn’t matter where you’re from you know and have seen both issues. But the world is changing and so are the biases, far from solving the gender inequality at work, African particularly Mozambique’s society is now changing its stereotypes about women’s roles in society. These a debate involving cultural history and necessity. Nowadays even families who would like to keep the traditional roles of men and women, most of the times have no conditions to do so. Since we are a developing country agriculture is still one of the main sources of sustainability and rent.

One of the most common rent sources is the commerce of home-produced goods and artworks; people here have very impressive handy skills, that come from needs and lack of resources.

These people have families that live on what they make, people find creatives ways to save an earn money in an honest job, and these pictures of two different women doing the same job but under different circumstances, the first lady is elder and has a fixed fresh market shop while the second lady is an ambulant sales person meaning that she walks around during the whole day with her sieve “peneira” containing her goods and does it every day. Both these women are successful women that deserve respect despite their differences they both do something worth to be in this picture, this essay and this context. They are women who stand up for themselves and against all the odds and biases make this country a better place and my hopes of defeating the biases escalate to the maximum.

I could talk about these women and biases every day but I hope more than just reading this you were able to not only understand but feel the message I hope is being conveyed in this.

For me more than an essay this an opportunity to express my feelings and opinions in this topic so common but also viewed as a taboo.
