| Description |
English: Work on the line between level crossings A39 and A38. A Case Super Railer can be seen at work on the track in mid-distance. This view was taken from level crossing no 39 Hillcrest > 1753523 which is situated in the Limpenhoe marshes between the villages Reedham and Limpenhoe, south-west of Hill Farm. The sugar factory in Cantley can be seen in the distance.
The line between Reedham and Cantley is closed over the weekend whilst a new track is being laid. The old rails and sleepers have been removed and the new track has been laid over night. Sections of old rails still attached to their wooden sleepers can be seen in the foreground (at left). The men will be working day and night so as not to disrupt rail traffic for any longer than necessary and portable lights positioned along the lineside will illuminate the track at night. |
