Notes "Il est intéressant de noter que la tradition a également donné à Rigaud un portrait du petit-neveu de Basville, l'intendant Charles René de Maupéou (1688-1775), et dont un exemplaire extrapolé en pied devant le coffre des sceaux royaux fut idendifé par Dominique Brême lors de sa vente comme une effigie de Chrétien II de Lamoignon de Basville (huile sur toile, Paris, hôtel Drouot, Tajan, 25 juin 2003, lot 51 ; anciennement dans la collection Casanova château de Courson[1]). Maupeou partagea avec son fils la charge de garde des sceaux, et, surtout, les mêmes attributs faciaux : gros sourcils tombants, petite bouche, nez long. Il en existe une autre version en buste au château de Bois-Dauphin au Précigné." [2]
