Title
Last Supper
Description
English: Christ, seated at the head of a rectangular table covered with a cloth, is surrounded by the twelve apostles, sitting on wooden stools. Each wears a nimbus- even Judas in the right foreground, who has just dipped into the dish with the Lord. In the background a curtain is draped from two columns. The accomodation of the rectangular table and the apostles to the round format is very subtle. The open space in th foreground not only allows a clear focus on christ, but permits a place at the table for the viewer.
