English: A stained glass window which serves as a World War Two memorial.
It is dedicated to those people from Parish of Stoke Poges who died: John Leslie Beeson; Frederick William Bright; John Stuart Devereux; James William Edmonds; John William Hartley; Harry Hazell; James alfred George Pitkin; Walter Edward Winter Incorporated in the window is a very old restored panel which was elsewhere in the church and is known as the 'bicycle window' which depicts a naked person playing a trumpet on a hobby horse. The mark on the lower right corner refers to is being designed by Lawrence Lee (1909-2011) who was a British stained glass artist executed by Christopher R. Wallis (artist), all in a circle with date of 1954 in middle. The window is the west wall of the nave where centuries gone by there was a door Located in Church of St Giles, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, England. It is listed on the National War Memorial Register (maintained by the Imperial War Museum) WM Reference number: 98451 |
