Summary edit

Description
English: Worsley Packet House This area is often regarded as the start of the canal revolution in this country. Frances Egerton, 3rd Duke of Bridgewater, had a canal built from Worsley to Manchester, taking coal from the extensive coal mines in the area. To the right the canal enters 40 miles of underground tunnels, now all disused. However, iron still leaches into the water making it the colour of oxtail soup or builder's tea.
