Title
Wrecking arch lights over Broad Street
Description
Photograph of the wrecking of the arch lights over West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. Pictured in the photograph are the Colonial Theatre, The Tavern, W.H. Miller Company and George M. Crist saloon. The work was done by C. W. Bryant Jr. Rigging and Moving Company. C. W. Bryant, Jr. was an African-American self taught engineer. He eventually owned and operated one of the largest construction companies in Columbus, Ohio. Although there were some cars parked along the street, the wrecking company used horse drawn equipment. The streets are made of brick.
