Summary edit

Description

Xeromphalina tenuipes (Schwein.) Singer

Image location: Old Sugarland Mountain Trail, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Sevier Co., Tennessee, USA

The spore shape and habit had us convinced it was a Gymnopus at first. I kicked myself when you proposed X. tenuipes. This species really doesn’t LOOK like it belongs in Xeromphalina.

Recognized by sight
