Summary edit

Description
English: Yankee Road, Camerance Wood, St Just in Roseland This road was built to provide access to the D Day embarkation site at Turnaware Point. As well as use as a training area, the road carried the US Army 29th Infantry Division en route to the Normandy beaches in June 1944. The asphalt coating was applied belatedly after aerial reconnaissance reported that the mica in the Cornish concrete was reflecting moonlight like primitive day-glow.
