Description
English: Baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) assayed for reduction of triphenyltetrazolium chloride grown on glucose or sucrose as a carbon source. The plates to the left are untreated, the plates to the right have triphenyltetrazolium incorporated into top agar. Reduction of the tetrazolium and formation of the red color is evident within 1-2 hours
