Description
English: Yew Tree, St Mary's Churchyard Yew trees are widespread and are often found in church yards. Yews can live to a great age, and some are estimated to be several thousand years old. The bark, shoots, leaves and seeds are all poisonous. The wood is hard, heavy, durable and strong and in the Middle Ages it was used for bows, and more recently for cabinet work and wood sculpture.
