English: York Old Station This is one of those "impossible" buildings to photograph - it is a long facade, the former buildings of York's first railway station, that is shrouded behind a row of trees and defies all sightlines. The station, built in the 1840s, was a terminus inside the walls of York. It closed in 1877, but remained unaltered until 2011 when the platform area within the surrounded listed buildings was converted into a large office block for the city council (see SE5951 : Site of the original railway station). |
