Scene in the Large Exhibits Section, showing ex-Great Northern Ivatt 4-4-2 No. 990 'Henry Oakley' nearest on left; on right ex-North Eastern Worsdell 2-2-4T No. 66 'Aerolite' and 2-4-0 No. 1463, ex-Great Northern Stirling 4-2-2 No. 1 and ex-London Brighton & South Coast Stroudley 0-4-2 'Gladstone'. This Museum, created by the LNER in 1928 and located in the old (terminal) York Station, was superseded in 1975 by the National Railway Museum, located on the site of former York North Locomotive Depot, whence all these exhibits were transferred - although No. 1463 is now at the North Road Museum, Darlington.
