Summary

Description
English: Burial Jars. Yoshinogari Yayoi Village

Large numbers of burial jars were recovered from a mound on site. Yayoi burials were situated on the periphery of the residential area, unlike Jomon burials which were sited within the residential area itself. The Yayoi custom of jar burials dates to ca. 100 BC - 100 AD. Like the earlier dolmen and cist burials, this culture was imported from Korea.
