Ysleta del Sur Mission, El Paso, Texas

As a result of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt—one of the only times in history that American Indians overcame their oppressors—Franciscan monks established Mission Ysleta to provide refuge for those fleeing to the south: Spanish settlers and the Piro and Tigua Indians (who did not support the rebellion). Because of changes in the Río Grande channel, flooding, and fire, the mission have been relocated and reconstructed several times. This mission is on the National Register of Historic Places.
