Originaltext aus u.e. Quelle: «Unter den Anklagepunkten, die 1489 zur Hinrichtung durch das Schwert führten, erscheint zwar ein angeblich gegenüber dem französischen König geleisteter Eid, jedoch nirgends zu Recht oder Unrecht genommene Pensionen und andere Gelder fremder Mächte. Hier vom modernen Standpunkt aus eine Beurteilung der Zeitmoral vorzunehmen, wäre verfehlt. Dem Eid kam im damaligen Rechtsleben die eigentlich tragende Funktion zu, während Bündnisse und Geldzahlungen je nach Interessenlage von einem Tag zum ändern nichtig sein konnten.» |
