| Description | VGTJ/ BAF Museum 2018: 'Hound' taking a nap under a Hound; the Mi-4s played a vital role during the liberation of Bangladesh in 71, notably the heliborne infantry assault by two companies in about nine Mil Mi-4s, escorted by "gunship" Chetaks, on December 7 near Sylhet. This example was flown in by a IAF C-17 last year, and only recently has it been moved to the museum after being officially handed over. As large as it is, the nose section clearly isn't the original one, which is why it doesn't look that appealing. Nonetheless, quite the rare chopper, specially if you consider BAF Wessexes met the axe. The question, however, is weather it will remain here, or will it be moved to the Liberation War museum, which is nearby. |
