English: Stair tower of Ziegenhain Castle. Four massif bricked floors probably belongs to the medieval fortified castle. The two half-timbered floors above (covered with shingles) were built around 1650 and belongs to the building phase of unfortified residence Deutsch: Ein runder Treppenturm am Gouverneursflügel von Schloss Ziegenhain. Er besteht aus vier massiv gemauerten Geschossen und darüber zwei polygonale Fachwerkgeschosse, die auf Voluten-Eckkonsolen leicht vorkragen. Das Fachwerk ist verschiefert. Der untere Teil des Turmes war vermutlich ein Wohnturm aus der mittelalterlichen Burganlage, der Fachwerkaufbau stammt stammt nach dendrochronologischen Untersuchungen um 1660. Stilistisch passt der Fachwerkaufbau eher in die Zeit um 1600. |
