Description
English: This large painted feature is found a Zombepata Cave, Guruwe in northern Zimbabwe.It is probably a multi-layered symbol based on several possible natural features such as termiterium or honey bee hive. The importance of these resources as both food and symbolic capital cannot be understated as they appear central in the prehistoric Khoisan world view in Zimbabwe.They beautiful image would have taken a long time to create and would have spoken to the viewers of the time as to they dominate symbolism in their complex socio-religious system.
