Summary edit

Description
English: Opened to the public in August 2019. It is free and open daily. Per INAH: Mixcoac, whose name in Nahuatl means “where the cloud snake is venerated”, dates from the Teotihuacan era (400-600 AD), but the remains that are visited today belong to its Mexica occupation (900-1521 AD).Per El Universal: It is one of the smallest archaeological sites in Mexico, with 7,200 square meters. Diego Prieto (director of INAH) added that the site “is like a flower amidst the asphalt, for it is, practically, embedded next to the Periférico [highway], surrounded by housing units and roads.”
