東涌 a variant of 東湧?

涌 is the Mainland Mandarin form for 湧, and is 涌 a legitimate variant of 湧 in Taiwan Mandarin ([1] [2]), but is it appropriate to use 涌 here? --Geographyinitiative (talk) 07:55, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
