Crimea edit

--Copied from en.wikipedia talkpage-- Why is this image featuring Crimea as a part of Russia? This needs to be fixed immediately! --201.35.250.154 (talk) 04:47, 19 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Crimea should be 50% for Russia, because it's claimed by Russia and Ukraine equally. If we pictured Crimea not as Russian, we consider that Crimea is unconditionally belongs to Ukraine. But it false (Crimea uses Moscow Time).
The only sensible reason that allowed not to show Crimea in Russia - the championship itself started before Crimea became the part of Russia. But for 2018 World cup Crimea will be shown as part of Russia (unless if the war will be), regardless of the opinions of the English-speaking world. --Brateevsky (talk) 18:20, 21 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please Note edit

Whether you are trying to move Crimea around based on your own personal opinion, or changing the colour schemes, please note that the main purpose of this map is not a accurate representation of every geopolitical detail, but showing the advancement of national football teams in the world cup. Please keep your uploaded version up to date with the world cup results. Haghal Jagul (talk) 01:19, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Kosovo, Palestine edit

Shouldn't whether FIFA recognizes them be more important than whether the UN does? AnonMoos (talk) 21:43, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Palestine is recognized by both FIFA and the UN, I don't know what the point of bringing Palestine up even is. Haghal Jagul (talk) 23:26, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Both have been mentioned in recent file upload comments. AnonMoos (talk) 03:49, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Some socks tried to mark Crimea in Russian colors and used Kosovo/Palestine as excuse for this. --Denniss (talk) 05:22, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Rio edit

Brazil is the host of the tournament. No idea why one would mark Rio de Janeiro with a yellow square in order to mark Brazil as the host. IF one would want to mark the host nation (as if we would forget what country this is), wouldn't it be more convenient to colour the whole nation, or to choose its capital? Uruguay steht im Achtelfinale edit

...und muss demnach auf die Karte zu den Achtelfinalteilnehmern

Yes, could someone update the map? Sikjes (talk) 22:45, 26 June 2014 (UTC) (My real talk page)Reply

Yellow edit

The yellow areas are hardly visible in the case of small countries such as the Netherlands or Costa Rica. What about selecting a different color? --Leyo 23:04, 29 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Work-in-progress color? edit

What is the plan for countries that placed for the semi-finals without the semi-finals having been played? Will they all use the light green color for the fourth place? KarstenO (talk) 14:15, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
