Retain this flawed image to illustrate a possible error when tying Yosemite/1.5 Bowline?

This image shows a flawed (fehlerhaft?) form of the en:Yosemite bowline, a knot that seems to be known in German as the de:Bulin 1.5. (German speakers please correct me if necessary.) Specifically the knot has been allowed to capsize (distort) during the final dressing and tightening phase. The possibility of this outcome can be viewed as a disadvantage of the Yosemite/1.5 Bowline.

I am planning to add information about this into the EN article on the knot and this image will be useful for illustration purposes. However, I'd like opinions on how best to flag the image as a flawed form. I am going to add descriptive text indicating the problem right now, but I think it may be best to also rename the file so it is clear the image represents a flawed form of the knot. Since it current filename is in German, perhaps a native speaker could propose a new one.

Further, I think it may be good to add some sort of indication within the image itself that the form shown is undesirable. I was thinking a large red "X" in the lower left corner of the image. But because Commons images are used by everyone, I want to make sure that any symbol(s) used will be intelligible in other languages/cultures. Thoughts? --Dfred (talk) 14:00, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

Yes fehlerhaft is the right expression. And I think that a largre red X would be a good idea. Another sing I thought of was kind of a "danger of death" sing, with a skull and crossbones or something like that. The mentioned possibility of making a mistake is indeed a disadvantage. But if you begin with tying a Palstek/Bowline (with the end inside the loop) it is far less likely that you get it wrong. (The Bowline is even the origin of the Yosemite Bowline, just with an additional "knotting" of the end.) --Feudiable (talk) 19:17, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead with the red "X" and performed some other cleanups on the image. I did consider the en:Skull and crossbones, but that symbol has too many meanings and (perhaps) may differ even more across cultures. File rename proposal

This proposal assumes there is consensus the image should be retained to illustrate this possible outcome when tying the Yosemite/1.5 bowline. If so, I feel it should be renamed to reflect its flawed content. I propose it be moved from its current name, File:Bulin 1.5.jpg, to something like File:Bulin 1.5-fehlerhaft-flawed.jpg.
