Spelling mistake edit

"Hierarchy" is misspelled in the bottom right of the chart. StAnselm (talk) 03:41, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

03:41, 8 May 2015 Update/Church history timeline edit

Would you be able/willing to conduct a more extensive edit, both to it (the PNG) and to File:Churches of Scotland timeline.svg? The line for the Cameronians should begin at the Revolution Settlement of 1688-1689, not the Patronage Act 1712. See Hetherington's history, page 304 (middle of the left column), with additional commentary on page 335 (middle of the right column), as the basis for my request. A prominent member of the group that left during the patronage-related "The Disruption", he concentrates overmuch on patronage (see en:Benefice for a related concept), so while he's rather partisan, when he doesn't mention patronage as a reason for a split, we can assume that it wasn't a reason. @Nyttend: I copied your request to the talk page so the reference information would be listed here. I made the change to the PNG, check it out and make sure it is what you were wanting. I can edit the PNG much quicker than the SVG so I want to make sure everything is correct with the PNG first before I attempt to update the SVG. Offnfopt(talk) 03:46, 8 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Actually, could you make it at the same spot as the abolition of episcopacy? Both groups separated at the same time, due to differences with the decisions of the en:Convention of Estates (1689), although of course on different grounds. Other than that, no objections. I've made the above change. Offnfopt(talk) 20:05, 8 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Burghers and Anti-Burghers splitting into 'Old Licht' and 'New Licht' edit

The timeline currently says that the Ant-Burghers split into 'Old Licht' and 'New Licht' groups in 1798 and that the Burghers did likewise in 1806. As far as I can see, the dates should be 1799 for the Burghers and 1806 for the Anti-Burghers - see Smith, Auld Licht, New Licht and Original Secessionists in Scotland and Ulster page 104 on the Burghers and page 111 on the Anti-Burghers. Should the timeline be amended accordingly? Alekksandr (talk) 12:02, 3 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
