Just a note so that this image doesn't become a victim of copyright enforcement: The license status is accurate, I've spoken with the photographer. --Gmaxwell 20:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

(c) www.basketballphoto.com edit

I read the notice on foundation-l this photo was released by the photographer under a GFDL license. What to do with the ugly (c) www.basketballphoto.com part on top of it? Dedalus 16:46, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

A number of people work on cleaning out watermarks from photos in Category:Images with watermarks. Should this one be treated any different? --Para 11:10, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please un-protect this image. Please see [1] for Jimbo's statement on the outcome (to summarize): The image with watermark shall be deleted. I am proposing that this image be unprotected, reverted to the unwatermarked version. If Cavic reverts it to the watermarked version, or states otherwise that he wants it deleted, then it should be immediately deleted. --MECU 00:21, 24 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removing the watermark might be considered a violation of the GFDL:
provided that this License, the copyright notices, and the license notice saying this License applies to the Document are reproduced in all copies
I am not sure however whether reproduced means that the watermark has to stay. -- Bryan (talk to me) 16:42, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
No one knows this for sure, but the image as is, is unusable on Wikipedia per the WP policy. I'm attempting to get this middle position instead of deleting the image outright. MECUtalk 17:30, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I prefer to have Gmaxwell's say about this, because he has had some extensive phone calls with the author. I'll leave him a note on his talk. -- Bryan (talk to me) 17:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
