Scio is an incomprehensible "translation" of Chios island (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chios). I have searched the Louvre site and the painting's caption is wrong there too (http://cartelfr.louvre.fr/cartelfr/visite?srv=car_not_frame&idNotice=22745).
