This map isn´t correct. It is a map of german districts. But Franconia is not an admistrative unit (although there are three franconian districts in Bavaria). Franconia can be describted by dialect, culture, history and it´s pepole who regards themselves as Franconians. Thats not the same as districts borders. F.e.: Eastern part of Heilbronn district can be seen as franconian, but not the rest of it and Heilbronn City. Only parts of Fulda district is franconian. The same is for Eisenach district in Thuringia. But parts of Badenian Odenwaldregion (Walldürn etc.) are not marked in this map, although they can be seen as franconian. It doesn´t make sense to use a district map to show where Franconia is. German and english wikipedia have good maps that show Franconian area: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Franken_Region_Uebersicht.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Franconia_details.png best regards ManfredV

I know it is not administrative region. But, this map with district boarders makes easier to determine the boarders. Thanks, anyway.Quahadi Añtó 18:26, 26 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

No part of Odenwaldkreis (ERB) can be considered Franconian. --EPsi (talk) 05:43, 25 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Kulturregion Franken

edit

--MartinTruckenbrodt (talk)
